May Features and Thank you’s

The month of May was another good month for the Sitcom.  I was very excited to have lots of folks contacting me this month to show projects that they have done that were inspired by mine.  And one of the things I love to do is to share artwork and craftiness from all over the internet, so it was very thrilling to have emails from folks asking to be spotlighted on my blog.  How exciting!Currently the Sitcom has nearly 2500 followers on Google, RSS Feeds, Facebook and Twitter.  If you would like take advantage of the Sitcom’s presence, please email me at [email protected].  I have advertising space available.  Or if you would like to visit with my buddy Tom Selleck, his mustache and I for an interview, let me know.

For Mothers Day, I made my mom a basket of vintage soap, created from dollar store soap and fabric scraps.  The idea of adding fabric to soaps has tons of potential.  This project was featured by The Gunny Sack, and Krafty Kat.
An old craft kit inherited from my Grandmother was the source of my Vintage Bouquet.  This project drew the attention of One Pretty Thing, Dollar Store Crafts, Todays Top 20, My Tate Gallery, 10 Marifet.org, One Pretty Wedding, and Yesterday on Tuesday.
My popsicle stick bracelets were still going strong.  A crazy idea sourced from a vintage craft magazine, the idea of soaking popsicle sticks and bending them intrigued quite a few folks.  They were featured on Reduce, Reuse, Upcycle, and Coley’s Corner.

And Steph from Southern Fairy Designs put her own spin on them, creating these beautiful designer looking ones for her daughter! And NJ from All Things Random and Beautiful made a colorful version that any fashionista would love!

My Faux Wood Inlay made an appearance on The Crafty Artisan.  I am very honored!
My Batik with Crayons project was featured on Dollar Store Crafts.

Poddleblog created her own version of this batik idea.  Aren’t they beautiful!  She refined the technique a bit.  Please check out her blog for details!

And Rachel from Quirky Momma but her quirky kids to work painting with melted crayons.  Check out their work of art! You can see lots more fun kids crafts on her site.

Craft Gossip featured my Mosaic Monogram.
And my Faux Metal Wall art is still going strong, with over 100,000 views!  This month it was featured by Sometimes Anna Blogs, What the Craft, Repurpose-Relove, Crescendoh, Adelyn Stone, and A Cultivated Nest.
Inspiration was plenty for this project, and some of my Facebook readers submitted some photos of their projects including a beautiful Fleur de Lis by Anita Martin, and these beautiful faux metal designs by Lilian Roller.

And check out this awesome mirror and Love sign by Heather Sosa!  Seems that Heather is totally taking this idea and running with it.  I can’t wait to see what else she comes up with!

Shaylynn from Shealynns Faerie shoppe made this beautiful piece.  Love the floral detail!

An old project from last summer resurfaced.  My Icecream cart bank made an appearance on All free Holiday Crafts.  Be sure to check out this up and coming site for more summer projects!

Sew Happy Geek featured my Temari Balls. This unusual craft, brought to me by my daughter is very intriguing.  I hope to experiment with it more in the future.

And finally, I was very honored when I discovered that Nikki from Best Part of Believe not only featured several of my projects, but totally plugged my Commercial Break Thursday!!  Thanks so much Nikki!
