Features and Thank you’s for August

The month of August was an amazing month for The Sitcom!  I had a record number of page views- nearly 200,000! This was in part due to the fact that my Quilled Starry Night was pretty darn popular.  It was a thrill to be not only considered a crafter, but an artist too!  Quilled Starry night was featured by so many blogs in August, that I had a bit of trouble rounding up a good list.  I was honored when I was contacted by Rex Features in the UK, who featured it on their blog where it was picked up by the British Telegraph “Pictures of the Day” and eventually the Associated Press.  Wow.  Other blogs that I would like to thank for featuring my work are La Boite Verte, Oddity Central, Geek O System, Worlds Strangest, West Whim, Trend Hunter Magazine, 2 Artville, Artrick Playground, I’m Topsy Turvy, Craftzine, It’s Molly Smith, Laughing Squid, Curbed, House of Hepworths, Lists Galore, Holy Kaw, Artesanato, Made in Slant, My Modern Met, Show Tell Share, and Lomography.

I was also honored to be interviewed by Rebecca Parsons on Artistically Speaking Radio.  If you want to hear the interview, you can go to this link.  I’ll warn you ahead of time though that I have a Mickey Mouse voice and an odd Northern/Southern accent.  And I say ummm… a whole lot!  Arrrgh!

Some of my other tutorials were also pretty popular last month.  My Faux Metal Wall art is still making the rounds.  It was featured in August by Money Saving Mom, and Trash to Treasure Decorating.  Mari from In My Own Words, made an awesome version of this project.   Check it out!

Beautiful!
My Popsicle Stick Bracelets were featured by Fun Family Crafts, How to Reuse it Creatively, Tipnut, and Annekaz.  This past week, I was contacted by Blogher, who featured them in their DIY section.  Very thrilled about that.  I also got a note from Lucy at Craftberry Bush who made these awesome versions.

She also has a very heartwarming story to go along with it.  Be sure to check it out.

Turns out there are lots of classic TV show lovers out there.  My ridiculous Brady Bunch cake was featured by Craft, Sew Happy Geek, Creating my way to Success, All Things Fee, and 365 Days 2 Simplicity.

My Crayon Batiks were featured by Red Barn Artworks.

Kathleen at Always Sew Love created this amazing Mug Rug using the melted crayon technique.  She just did not add the dye to the fabric, resulting in a great colored piece of fabric art.  I really love this idea.  Her additional quilting effects are wonderful.

My Teacher Bear was featured by One Pretty Thing.

My Casted Plaster was featured by Fun Family Crafts.

All Free Christmas Crafts featured quite a few of my Christmas projects from last year including my Paint Brush Santas, Paper Mache Santas, Baby Food Jar Christmas Tree, Skiing Penguins, Edible SnowGlobe Place Settings and my Snowflake Soaps.

And my final project for August, my Bug Party Tic Tac Toe Game was featured by One Pretty Thing, Funky Polkadot Giraffe, and Embellishing Life Every Day.
