Our challenge this week is to delve into still life photography. I wanted to take a photo of something unique and colorful, so I immediately thought about my Ukrainian eggs. If you are familiar with The Sitcom, then you know that one of my many crafty hobbies is creating these unusual eggs. The process involves layers of melted bees wax and dye and it can be rather time consuming, but very rewarding.
This photo was taken with the late afternoon sun shining in the window. I edited the photo a bit with picmonkey.com to make the colors “bloom” and added the cool looking border.
So how did you do?
Email your Still Life submissions to me! Check out the Submission Guidelines. I will post your photos here along with any information that you would like to include. If you have a website, feel free to add a link to your site! I will be taking Still Life submissions all week!
Our theme for next week is “Stripes”. See the information at the bottom of the post for details!
This Weeks Submissions:
These are “kitchen” still life photos I have displayed and sold at fine arts shows. It is fun to have food photos for decoration in the kitchen and I sold these in 5 X 7 and 8 X 10 sizes. For this challenge I went into picmonkey and added the frames. ~Brenda Williams, Weatherford, OK- Cats, Kids and Crafts
Next Week’s Theme is ‘Stripes’
Your challenge is to take a photo that represents stripes in some way. The obvious solution is to go with a photo of a flag, and you certainly can go that way, but let’s see what unique things we can come up with to represent stripes. Need a few examples?
See you back next week!
