This week our theme is birds! So, I located this photo of a pelican that I took while touring Key West, Florida, this past spring. I did not have to use a telephoto lens for this. He sat right there and let me walk right up to him. If you look at his face you can see that he is thinking, “stupid tourist”.
Pelicans are dangerous birds, you know. One broke my mothers arm several years ago.
Okay, that might be a bit of a stretch. You see, mom was with us on a trip to Florida and happened to see a pelican fly by. In her excitement to get a good picture, she fell off a porch step and landed on her arm. But to this day, we still blame it on the pelican.
This one is plotting to break my arm. You can see it in his eyes.
So how did you do?

This Week’s Submissions:
Hummingbird was captured on my Mom’s back porch and the yellow birds were photographed looking out over Mom’s front yard in Northwest Arkansas. (You can tell by looking at the temp that it was not taken in the last month! I wish we had that cool weather now.) The duck “for your Mom” was swimming in the park in Elk City, Oklahoma. Went to picmonkey to add a frame around each photo.~ Brenda Williams- Weatherford, OK- Cats, Kids and Crafts

I went to Italy with friends on my 50th birthday to take polymer clay jewelry classes with Donna Kato and Louise Fischer Cozzi. We were in the lovely lakeside town of Stresa. Between classes we visited the islands in Lago Maggiore that had fabulous palaces built in the 1600′s. We came across free roaming, glorious birds on Isola Madre. I had never seen a resting peacock. I was fascinated!~ Candace- Cool2Craft.com, spiritclay.blogspot.com, Favecrafts.com

Next Week’s Theme
Next week, our theme is water. I’ve been on vacation this week, touring the coast of California, Oregon and Washington State. There is one thing that all three states have in common. Lots of water! I’ve been taking photos all week long and am very excited to show you a little of what I came up with. So in the theme of the Northwest, we are looking for photos of water! Need some examples?
See you next week!
