This week our theme is sunrises or sunsets. I went through my photos from our recent trip to Key West. Because, frankly, if you want a beautiful sunrise or sunset photo, Key West is the place to go. Since I took plenty of shots during that trip, I had plenty to choose from. Interestingly enough, this photo was actually taken on the way back, when we stopped in Naples for the evening. Imagine the sound of waves, the distant sound of bar music and laughter, and the sound of my husband snoring in the room behind me, and you have the full effect of this photo!
So how did you do?
Email your Sunrise or Sunset submissions to me! Check out the Submission Guidelines. I will post your photos here along with any information that you would like to include. If you have a website, feel free to add a link to your site! I will be taking sunrise or sunset submissions all week! Feel free to send your original photo also!
Our theme for next week is “Birds”. See the information at the bottom of the post for details!
This Week’s Submissions:
1st Sunset photo taken from my front porch. The photo would have been better without the highline wire across the top. 2nd Sunrise photo taken on Interstate 40 going East. My daughter was driving and we were on our way to Arkansas. ~Brenda Williams, Weatherford, OK- Cats, Kids and Crafts
3rd Sunrise photo taken in Weatherford, Oklahoma on Historic Route 66. Note the “jet streams” from where planes had taken off from the Oklahoma City airport. Also on the bottom corner of photo you can see a semi-truck traveling on Interstate 40. 4th Sunset photo taken from my front porch. We have the most unusual sunsets in Western Oklahoma. ~Brenda Williams, Weatherford, OK- Cats, Kids and Crafts
This sunset was taken on a sunset cruise at beautiful Panama City Beach, Florida…I was surprised how well it turned out…Randal Tice- Napier Field, Alabama
Becky Morales, from Houston, TX- this was taken while on vacation in Big Bend National Park. We were camping with our 4 little kids, and the Chihuahuan desert was freezing at night (though stifling hot in the day!). Every morning the kids would wake up really early and so one morning I got out the camera and snapped the amazing sunrise. My url is www.kidworldcitizen.org :).
After growing up on an island surrounded by Manila Bay, I’ve spent the last 27 years landlocked in California’s Central Valley. So this sunset over the Pacific Ocean, as we cruised to Hawaii last spring, was a rare reminder of what I took for granted in childhood. ~Scrollwork-http://www.facebook.com/shopatswoosh
Hubby and I went to Hawaii a few years back. It was a one time wonderful thing. This was taken on the beach at Waikiki. Ah, good times.~Candace- Cool2Craft.com, spiritclay.blogspot.com, Favecrafts.com
I couldn’t decide which ones to choose, so I left that bullet for you to bite. All of these were taken either from my kitchen window or along the road on the way to work. Hope you enjoy them. Have a nice week. ~Luc from Antwerp, Belgium
Sunset over Waterford, Wisconsin. Waterford is a small rural community in Southeast Wisconsin. ~Janice
This was taken this week in Lynchburg VA.~ Scott Wilson, Lithia Spring, GA
This photo was taken about 15 years ago on the bay near Petoskey, MI~ Don
Next Week’s Theme- Birds!
We always tease my mom about the fact that every time she goes on vacation, she takes photos of ducks. She will arrive at your house after going on a trip, with stacks of photos for you to see. Invariably, about half way through, there will be a bunch of duck photos. We actually look for them now.
And then I happened to notice on my last trip that I took several photos of seagulls and pelicans. I’m guessing that the bird photo thing might be hereditary. So I thought I’d see how many of you out there have this recessive gene. Need a few examples?
See you back next week!
