More ideas with embossed aluminum cookie sheets!

Fish Cabinet/Enchanted Fish Pattern/ Suzys Artsy Craftsy Sitcom

My daughter and her husband moved to Florida a few weeks ago and one of the pieces of furniture that she was in need of was a cabinet for her bathroom.  She loved the Enchanted Fish Pattern that I made a few weeks ago out of a disposable cookie sheet, so we made a smaller version of it to fit on a wooden cabinet that we found at the thrift store.

I unfortunately do not have a before photo of the cabinet, but it was originally a dark stained wood.

My daughter painted the cabinet white, and then added a black section on the front panel of the door in order to highlight the fish pattern.  We then created a smaller version of the Enchanted fish- 8 x 10 “, to fit within the panel.  The tutorial for the Enchanted Fish can be found here.

You can also get a free copy of the pattern by signing up for The Sitcom Monthly Newsletter!  Information about the newsletter is at the bottom of this post.

The finished cabinet is a unique piece and sure to add a bit of unusual style to her new home.  What I enjoy about these patterns and techniques is the fact that you can actually make anything you want out of them.  They do not have to be wall art.

Faux Tin Tiles/Suzys Artsy Craftsy Sitcom #recycle

A few months ago, I showed you this tutorial on how to create faux tin tiles with disposable cookie sheets.  Since then, I’ve heard from quite a few readers that are not only trying this technique, but creating some pretty fabulous things with it.  You can find the tutorial and free patterns here.

Reader, Heather Blevins, sent in the above photo along with the note, “I made just a few additions because my corkboard was too big and I didn’t want to spray paint it. Plus, I had so much fun doing this I had to do more. It’s very zen“.

I love her choice of colors!  A fabulous piece of wall art!

As for more ideas with this particular project, I’ve had mail from readers all over the world who are putting their own touch to this project idea.  Ideas such as tiling a backsplash in the kitchen, adding these metal tiles to the headboard of a bed, adding them to the front panel of kitchen cabinets, putting them on the risers of stairs, and even tiling an entire ceiling.

I can’t wait to see some of the ideas completed!  And when I do, I’ll be sure to share.  And I have a few of my own up my sleeve.

Stay tuned!
