A great solution for your dog during the holiday stress!

This post brought to you by Comfort Zone® products. All opinions are 100% mine.

This is Bam Bam.  Looking sweet and innocent as only a little puppy can do.  Bam Bam belongs to my daughter and her husband.  Since my daughter and her husband were living with us up until recently, little Bam Bam was a member of our household along with their other dog, Lady, and my two dogs.  A whole bunch of canines in one place, right?

Chaos ensued.  Bam Bam of course, did lots of puppy things.  He had to learn to go to the bathroom outside, he had to learn not to test out his new teeth on all the furniture, and he had to learn how to not be so upset when we were not in the room with him.

Then there was Lady.  Lady doesn’t like to be without people either.  Long work hours for us, and lots of bored time for the dogs usually resulted in some sort of damage to my furniture or my belongings.

When my daughter and her husband officially moved to Florida a few months ago, she was worried that her already nervous dogs would have major issues with the transition.  Fortunately, the nice folks at Comfort Zone® with D.A.P.® happened to choose that time to send us their diffuser and spray products.

Comfort Zone® products help reduce stress-related behavior in cats and dogs by mimicking their natural pheromones that help them feel calm and comfortable in their environment. Comfort Zone® with D.A.P.® (Dog Appeasing Pheromone) products for dogs helps control excessive barking, destructive digging, chewing and house soiling.  It also helps manage stress-related behavior in dogs caused by thunderstorms, loud noises like fireworks, adjusting to a new environment, transitions, being left alone or traveling.

I sent the product with my daughter on the day of the move, with instructions for her to plug in the diffuser near their crates and the area that they would be staying in her new home while she and her husband were at work.  The spray can be spritzed lightly on their bedding.

The active ingredient is an analoque of the pheromone released by the mother dog while nursing.  The dog senses the pheromone and feels secure and comfortable.  Reducing their urges to act out, bark, chew, soil the house, or other fear-related behaviors.

Did it work?  My daughter’s exact words, “It was like night and day.  Both dogs have calmed down dramatically, they seem happy and totally unstressed.  Bam Bam used to soil his bedding and he has only had one accident since the move.  And no more barking and whining in the middle of the night!”

It’s been a few months now and little Bam Bam is not so little anymore.  But we all feel the the transition to Florida, change of environment and even Bam Bam’s potty training was made that much easier by the use of Comfort Zone® with D.A.P.®.

With the holidays upon us, your dog might benefit too!  For more information, be sure to check out their Facebook page, or their website.  Both Bam Bam and Lady highly recommend it.  And so do we!
