Welcome to the last post for the 2012 photography series! I have consistently over the past year posted a new theme each week and featured hundreds of fabulous photos! That is 52 different themes and 52 batches of beautiful photos. I truly look forward to checking out your photos each week and showing the world what talent there is behind that camera lens!
Of course, being a crafty blog, by far my most popular posts involve craft tutorials. I historically revamp the Sitcom every January, so I had to make the decision as to continue the series or not. After a bit of consideration, I have decided to continue. The challenge itself has improved my photography, and I really enjoy sharing those photos that are submitted each week.
Our final theme for 2012 was to submit our favorite photo. I have hundreds of favorite photos, so I opted to choose one of my favorites from my most recent trip out to Grand Lake, Colorado. This is a portion of the frozen lake taken at sunset. At roughly 10 degrees above zero, this was a perfect venue for a bit of relaxation for my husband and myself during the Christmas holidays. Nothing like a bit of snow and frosty air to put you in the Christmas spirit! And a sunset is the perfect photo to end the 2012 series with.
So how did you do?
It’s not too late! Email your “favorite photo” submissions to me! Check out the Submission Guidelines. I will post your photos here along with any information that you would like to include. If you have a website, feel free to add a link to your site! I will be taking “favorite photo” submissions all week! Feel free to send your original photo!
Next week’s theme for our new 2013 Photography Challenge is “Planes, trains and automobiles”. See the information at the bottom of the post for details!
This week’s submissions:

This is my favorite photo, because when I met my husband twenty-seven years ago on Christmas Eve he was dressed as Santa Claus. Our daughter got him this Santa T-Shirt for Christmas this year and it made us all laugh… ~Brenda Williams- Weatherford, OK- Cats, Kids and Crafts
My husband and I received a nice camera as a wedding gift and we set it up on a tripod and took a few Christmas pictures of us. It was fun and we were so happy with how they turned out! ~Melissa from Michigan - Melissa Made
This was a tough one, as I have many favorites, so decided on one of my favorite places to visit, and that is the Grand Canyon in Arizona. Carolyn in California
I just love this pic as it is of my great-niece playing in the flowers in my garden last spring. It was such a beautiful day. We hope to have many fun times in the garden as she gets older. I love my little niece as she reminds me of when I was a child. Full of anticipation, discovering new things, eager for knowledge and creativity. It like getting a burst of youth in my soul when she is here with me! Happy New Year! ~Sherry in Virginia
I planted these johnny jump-ups last fall so they could have a full season to establish their roots. Luckily we had a mild winter. I look at them from my front porch and remember the exact day I set them in the ground: the day my appendix burst. I had a four-hour break from the abdominal pain that had started the day before, and I wasted no time getting out there and digging. Only later did I learn that not having pain meant my body was already being flooded with toxins from a burst appendix. An extreme example of “Never let today’s urgencies rob you of today’s chance to seed your future.” ~Scrollwork
Next Week’s Theme – Planes, Trains, and Automobiles
One of my favorite movies of all time, by the way. But that is beside the point. Our theme is to come up with a great photo of planes, trains, or automobiles. Use your artist license. Can you come up with an amazing shot that makes us look twice? Want a few examples?
So go grab that camera and take some great photos!
