2013 Photography Challenge- Planes, Trains and Automobiles

golden gate bridge automobiles traffic

Welcome to the first challenge of 2013!  This week our theme is Planes, Trains and Automobiles.  Your challenge was to submit a great photo that represented all or part of that theme.  I chose a photo that I took this past summer on our trip up the California coast.  Our first stop was San Francisco, where we spent a couple days doing the tourist thing.  And of course, that would include the Golden Gate Bridge.

I love the rust-red color of the bridge.  Apparently, it is a full time job keeping the bridge such a vibrant color.  And the traffic, well as you can see, it was pretty heavy.  We weren’t the only looky-loos that day.  A sea of automobiles on one of the prettiest bridges in the world.

Sigh…now I want to go back!

So how did you do?

It’s not too late!  Email your “planes, trains or automobiles” submissions to me!  Check out the Submission Guidelines.  I will post your photos here along with any information that you would like to include.  If you have a website, feel free to add a link to your site!  I will be taking “planes, trains or automobiles” submissions all week!  Feel free to send your original photo!

Next week’s theme for the 2013 Photography Challenge is “Store front”.  See the information at the bottom of the post for details!

This week’s submissions:

2013 photography challenge
Check out these old cars in this early 1960 photo of my Uncle Avon and my Dad, Allan.  The photo was taken in the front of Daddy’s service station in Wichita, Kansas. They offered full service back then and pumped the gas into the cars and washed the windows. Looks like they might have been “up to something” in this photo. Hi Suzy, Happy New Year! This photo was taken in Arizona where my husband was a flight instructor, and this was his pride and joy “Cinnamon Girl”. I played around with the photo I took of him (and I had no idea what I was doing, still don’t, lol ) and this was the result:) ~ Lisette

Next Weeks Theme – Store Front

I love the look of a picturesque store front.  I’ve actually done quite a few paintings of that particular subject alone.  So I do have a tendency to take photos of streets and interesting looking store fronts.  Next week our challenge is just that.  Go grab that camera and take a look at some storefronts.  Take a few shots, come up with your favorite, and send it my way!   Need a few examples?
