2013 Photography Challenge- Calendar Photos

Welcome to the 2013 Photography Challenge!  Each week, I feature a new theme and challenge you to pick up that camera and take some amazing shots.  Last week, our theme was “Abundance”.  Please take a few moments and check out some of the great photos submitted last week

Our theme this week is “Calendar Photos”.  Your challenge is to choose a month of the year and take a photo that you feel represents that month.

I am choosing the month of August.  This photo was taken on our trip up the coast of California last summer.  We stopped and enjoyed at least 15 different lighthouses on that trip.  And I have photos of every single one of them.  Fortunately for me, the husband enjoys looking at them too, because more often than not, they were quite a ways off the beaten path.  This photo was taken with my Canon SX30IS and edited using the free software at picmonkey.com.

Lighthouses fit well with beachy summers, ocean breezes, rocky shores, and the sun on my face.  Yep, August it is…

So how did you do?

It’s not too late!  Email your “Calendar Photo” submissions to me!  Check out the Submission Guidelines.  I will post your photos here along with any information that you would like to include.  If you have a website, feel free to add a link to your site!  I will be taking “Calendar Photo” submissions all week!  Feel free to send your original photo!

Are you new to the Sitcom?  Be sure to check out my Frequently Asked Questions Page!

Next week’s theme for the 2013 Photography Challenge is “Green”.  See the information at the bottom of the post for details!

photography challenge fireworks july
My favorite month is July, because it is our wedding anniversary on July 4th. We always have fireworks on our anniversary! I took these photos at the fireworks display in Pea Ridge, Arkansas last July. July 1st was my Dad’s birthday and July 1st is my son’s birthday.  I also use to ride my horse in the the Grand Entry at the Rodeo of the Ozarks and in the Springdale Mounted Quadrille every July 1, 2, 3, and 4th. July has lots of happy memories. ~ Brenda Williams- Weatherford, OK- Cats, Kids and Crafts

I chose the month of October because autumn can be so colorful. I took these photos in the wine country of Napa Valley in California, and a tree I saw that stood out against the pine trees while driving through the mountains near Volcano, California. ~Carolyn in CA

Next weeks theme is the color Green!

I am challenging you to come up with a photo that reads green.  Last year we did a “red” challenge, and we had so many great entries that I thought we would try another color challenge.  So go grab that camera and find something green for a great photo submission!  Need a few ideas?
