Single-use Christmas Soaps Tutorial

Last year, I found a bunch of felt snowflakes at the Dollar Store and created single-use Snowflake Soaps.  This year, I was perusing my local craft store and ran across a whole section of pre-cut felt ornaments priced at three for a dollar.  I simply couldn’t pass it up.  They just begged me to turn them into single-use soaps Christmas Soaps.  So, of course, I had to!

The great thing about single use soaps is they make fabulous gifts!  You can wrap in individual gift bags and give them out with your Christmas cards!  Keep one in your purse for a bit of soap while you are on the road.  Once you use the soap, the felt inside becomes a little felt washcloth.

For this project I used:

Pre-cut felt ornaments
Clear melt and pour soap

Not much to this project, is there? That is what is so cool about it.  You can make some great home made gifts in very little time!

Add several squares of melt and pour soap to a microwave safe bowl.  Microwave for about 30 seconds, stir and microwave for 30 seconds more.  Keep checking it until it becomes liquid.  Do not over cook.  Then dip your felt piece into the melted soap.  Lift with a fork and place on wax paper to dry.  For my soaps, I repeated this process twice to give it two coats.

Use a knife to trim any excess off of the sides.

Pretty, right?  Now make a bunch more.

Or set them out for your guests!  I bet folks are very impressed.  You don’t have to tell them that it only took you a few minutes to make them!
