How to make Fresh Squeezed Tropical Punch with the Big Boss Juicer!

Ever had fresh squeezed orange juice?  I’m totally not talking about the kind you buy at the grocery store that says “fresh squeezed” on the box.  Yes, it is more than likely good, and more than likely it was fresh squeezed at one point, but there is something to be said for orange juice that was just squeezed five minutes ago.  Seriously.  Did you know that the longer fresh juice is stored, the more vitamins and nutrients it loses?

Big Boss has recently come out with an 800 Watt Power Juicer that is amazingly easy to use and I had to drop everything and tell you about it.  I made a Fresh Squeezed Tropical Punch with it that is amazing.  Want to know how?

Eating healthier can be a bit of work sometimes, but I have always found that having the proper tools, whether it be in crafting or cooking, makes a huge difference.  Orange juice is rich in vitamins A and B and of course it has tons of Vitamin C.  Not to mention, it is delicious.  But if you know me, you know I don’t love to spend a ton of time in the kitchen.

Squeezing my own oranges?  Not one of those things you might expect from me.

But this juicer makes it so easy!

Did you know? The Department of Agriculture analyzed 12 fruits and found that 90% of the antioxidant activity with in the juice rather than the fiber!  The cool thing about a juicer is that it doesn’t work like a blender which just pulverizes fruit.  A juicer separates the juice from the fiber.

 I decided to make my own version of a tropical fruit punch.  I peeled 5 oranges, 1 lemon, and cut up half a pineapple.  Now let’s see what this thing can do!

 You simply drop the fruit into the top and push down with the plunger and this machine takes it and runs with it!  I have to say it is pretty darn powerful.  That fruit didn’t have a chance!  It quickly separates the juice from the pulp.  The juice comes out on the one side and drains into the pitcher.  On the other side of the machine, the pulp goes into a special receptacle.

 It took about 5 minutes total to make this pitcher of fresh squeezed tropical punch!  And clean up was easy.

Keep in mind, fruit juice is not the only thing you can make in a juicer.  Did you know that virtually every health authority recommends getting 6-8 servings of vegetables and fruits per day, which very few people actually get.  Using a juicer is a great way to help meet your daily target for fruits and vegetables.

So how did the machine rate?

Ease of use: A+ 
I had no issues using this machine and my husband will be the first to tell you that I am not mechanically inclined!

Quality of Product: A+
This machine is heavy-duty.  All parts seem well made, and should last for years.  The machine is a good mix of metal and heavy duty plastic, with pieces that fit well together.

Clean up: B+
The machine comes apart easily and all parts wash up well.  I would only recommend hand washing as I have found that my dishwasher in particular, loves to melt plastic.  You wouldn’t want these parts to become warped as they need to fit well together for the machine to work properly.  The metal blade/filter is best cleaned with a toothbrush.  Be especially careful about your fingers.

Oh and the juice? 

This blend of oranges, pineapple and lemon was just amazing.  That pitcher of juice didn’t last a day in my house.  And the nice thing?  Well, I don’t mind making more.
