Origami Book Trio Giveaway!

I was given these books in exchange for a review.  All opinions are my own!

I love working with paper. So, I was pleasantly surprised with I was asked to do a review and giveaway on three different Origami books!  So, we are going to take a look at Origami Animal Sculpture, Origami Flowers, and Travel Origami.  Each takes the subject of paper folding, or Origami and looks at it in a new and different way.

Paper is a fun medium to work with.  I love the fact that it is a very inexpensive craft. Generally, I do paper quilling.  Some of my most popular paper projects on the Sitcom are my Quilled Monogram, Quilled Butterfly in a Jar, and Quilled Starry Night.  Unlike quilling which consists of paper coils, Origami is the art of folding paper to create unique shapes.

So let’s take a look at these three fun books!

Origami Animal Sculpture by John Szinger

Origami Animal Sculpture takes a unique look at Origami Animals and contains 22 different lifelike 3D designs!

The instructions in this book are very detailed.  Just look at the page that shows how to create an elephant!  Lots of detailed photos!  In this book, you will find beautiful photos, clear directions and an instructional DVD that make the animals a joy to fold and display.

This little moose is one of my favorites!

And check out this turtle!  The animals in this book are lots of fun to make!

Origami Flowers by LaFosse and Alexander

Love flowers?  Well this book not only shows you how to create beautiful floral masterpieces out of paper, but also supplies the colorful paper to make them with!

LaFosse & Alexander’s Origami Flowers Kit contains 180 sheets of origami paper along with a full-color 96-page instruction book and a 2-1/2 hour instructional video DVD!

I love the colorful selection of flowers in this book.  You can create beautiful paper folded greeting cards, gift boxes, bouquets and much more.

Tons of great flower patterns and instructions!  I’m thinking about putting together a pretty paper floral wreath!  This pretty book takes you step by step, and you can’t help but be inspired by all the pretty colored paper.

Travel Origami by Cindy Ng

Have lots of fun paper souvenirs leftover from that last trip?  This fun book gives you some creative ideas to display them!  Use those postcards, street maps, tickets and souvenirs and convert them into pretty art that brings back memories.

My husband always collects maps and brochures of the areas that we travel to.  I’m thinking some of these great ideas could be turned into something fun like a refrigerator magnet!
