It’s getting to be that time of year again when we pull out all the Fall Recipes!  In our house, one of the absolute favorite flavors of Fall are fresh apples.  There are some great coupons currently available for Mott’s Applesauce.  So I had to put together a family favorite: Applesauce Muffins with Crumb Topping!  As big as bakery muffins, these delicious treats are perfect in the morning or even as a nice afternoon treat.  And they are easy to make too!

Yep, they are awesome.  I was lucky to get this photo.  If you were able to pan to the right, you would see my husband’s hand swooping in for one of those warm cinnamon-y muffins, straight from the oven.

Apple is THE flavor of fall!

So, are you ready for that awesome Applesauce Muffin recipe?

Ingredients

4 cups All-purpose Bisquik Baking Mix (you know I love easy recipes!)
1/2 cup Sugar
2/3 cup Mott’s® Applesauce
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup vegetable oil
2 large eggs

Begin by mixing together the All-Purpose Baking Mix, sugar, and cinnamon in a large bowl.

In a smaller bowl, mix together the Mott’s® Applesauce, milk, oil and eggs.

Pour the liquid ingredients into the large bowl of dry ingredients and then mix lightly until you have a nice batter.

Add the batter to a 12 cup muffin tin that is lightly greased.  You will fill the cups nearly to the top.

Crumb Topping

1/3 cup sugar
1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
3 tbsp. All-Purpose Baking mix (I used Bisquik)
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
2 tbsp. melted butter

Now we add the finishing touch!  For the crumb topping, mix together the sugar, brown sugar, All-Purpose Baking Mix, and cinnamon.  Then mix in the melted butter.  Add the crumb topping to the tops of all the muffins and then put in a 400 degree oven to bake for about 18-20 minutes.

The muffins are done when they are browned nicely on top and you can insert a toothpick and it comes out clean.  Once they have cooled a bit, gently remove them from the pan.  Then, step back.  Because everyone that has been breathing in that wonderful cinnamon apple aroma will be right there wanting their share.

You have been warned.
