Easy to make Winter Scene Place Settings

This post is sponsored by Consumer Crafts and their wonderful selection of craft supplies!  #ShopConsumerCrafts

It’s that time of year to plan out all the holiday gatherings.  My family is pretty large and the holidays are a great excuse to get the whole family together to celebrate and enjoy each other’s company.  Because we are a crafty kind of family (I didn’t fall far from the tree), we love to create lovely tablescapes.

This year when the nice folks at Consumer Crafts asked me to try out some of their products, it was the perfect opportunity to create easy to make Winter Scene Place Settings!

These cute scenes take no time at all, minimal supplies and not only do they make great place settings, but your guests can take them home with them and hang them on the tree!  Nothing like a multi-use craft project I always say.

Want to know how to make them?

For this project I used:

1-3/4″ Clear Glass Cube Ornaments
2″ Mini Bottle Brush Trees
1/4″ mini wrapped gifts (can be found at your local craft store)
Fake Snow for Crafts
Heavy Black Card Stock
Hole Puncher
David Tutera™ Fine Tip Chalk Pens
Red and White Bakers Twine

I’ve always loved miniatures and have collected quite a few tiny items over the years.  The clear glass ornaments make a fabulous base for a miniature scene, and the fact that they are flat on the bottom makes them easy to use as fancy place settings.

The first step is to cut the black card stock into 2″ x 1″ rectangles.  Trim the corners as shown above and add a hole with a hole punch.

Use a pair of scissors or wire clips to clip off the base of the tree.

Add hot glue to the base of the tree and using a long pair of tweezers, push the tree into the glass ornament and steady it until the glue dries.

After the glue is dry, you can use the tweezers the fluff the tree out.

Now let’s add snow!  Form a scrap piece of paper into a cone and add in the fake snow.  Cover the whole base of the ornament and at least up to the base of the tree with snow.

Drop in the little gifts and arrange them with tweezers.  Place the metal hanger back on top of the ornaments.

Use the liquid chalk marker to write in your guests names onto the little tags that you made.  Liquid chalk markers are the new rage now and they are incredibly fun to use!

Finally, use the red and white baker’s twine to tie the tags onto the ornament.

So cute on the table!  Everyone will love their little personal snow scene!

And the fun part is that they now have a tiny gift to take home!
