We just spent the last six months at the beach in St. Petersburg, FL, and are now on our way to our next gig in Arizona.  Both of these sunny places are beautiful, but can be tough on your skin.  So this post has dual purposes!

I have 5 Great Skin Care Tips for Summer for you, featuring CeraVe Skincare products, along with a fun new crochet pattern for Plaid Hand Towels!  The best of both worlds!

Love the Sun?

Me too!  In fact, I’ve been spending a whole bunch of my time lately enjoying sunny days.  It’s a good thing, but you have to keep in mind that the sun can deplete your skin of ceramides, leading to dry and irritated skin.

And next thing you know, you start looking your age.

And we can’t have that, can we?

5 Great Skin Care Tips for Summer

5 skin care tips for summer

1- Moisturize!  Summer sun, heat, humidity, and air conditioning will all wreak havoc on your skin. The trick is to moisturize every chance you get to keep skin hydrated, soft and smooth.

CeraVe Moisturizing Cream is the perfect solution to not only moisturize but help restore the protective skin barrier with vital ceramides.   Developed with dermatologists, these advanced skincare products do more than just moisturize the skin’s surface.

CeraVe is the first and only brand to offer a full line of skin care products that contain an exclusive combination of three scientifically-identified vital ceramides that help to lock in moisture all day.

2. Stay hydrated. Drink water throughout the day. If you’re on the go, try bringing a bottle and a container of fresh fruit to prevent dehydration and heat stroke.  Good hydration results in fresh dewy skin even on a hot summer day.

 3. Be sure to use a hydrating cleanser.  So many cleansers contain alcohol that can dry your skin, reversing all that good skin care that you have been trying to maintain.  CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser removes dirt, oil and makeup as ceramides and hyaluronic acid moisturize, soften, and help repair the skin barrier.

Clean, fresh, beautiful skin.

4. Avoid hot showers in the summer.  After exposure to the sun, hot water can further dry the skin.  Turn the temperature down a bit.  Not only will your skin stay moister, but a cool shower after excess sweating helps keep the skin clear, decreasing acne breakouts.

5. Apply Sunscreen whether you think you need or not.  It’s not enough to just apply sunscreen, you must apply enough, and apply it frequently.   Studies indicate that most people do not apply nearly as much daylight protection as they should.  CeraVe Sunscreen Face Lotion SPF 50: Provides broad spectrum, lightweight sun protection plus vital ceramides!

Tip: Try to stay out of the sun from mid-morning to late afternoon whenever you can.

Two more great products from CeraVe

CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser- removes dirt, oil and makeup while replenishing skin with ceramides.

CeraVe AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion- Moisturizes and provides broad spectrum sun protection.

Over the past few months, I’ve become a huge fan of CeraVe products.  They penetrate the skin’s surface, infuse it with moisture, and lock it in for truly long-lasting results and beautiful, healthy looking skin.

And that is pretty awesome.

Now for the hand towel pattern!
