Block of the Month Pattern- Purrfect Love

Each month in 2018, I will feature a new block of the month pattern using different quilting and sewing methods.  There is something here for every skill level!  Since it is February and the month of love, I thought I’d throw in a bit of kitty love.  Go to my Block of the Month Page to see what new pattern is currently available for free!

After the success of the Words to Live By Series last year, I wanted to come up with something just as fun this year.

You can see previous Blocks of the Month patterns here!

My new block of the month series features a mug mat or placemat pattern, pillow pattern, baby quilt pattern and lots of great ways to use them!  A total of 3 projects!

Purrfect Love Mug Mat or Placemat

The centerpiece for this month’s pattern is an original applique design called Purrfect Love that I created using pretty calico floral fabrics in turquoise and red. The bright fabrics stand out against the light calico background and make this pattern pop.  I used simple embroidery stitches on this one, but you can always applique using your sewing machine instead.

Like the Fabrics? I used The Elm Park Collection in Turquoise, Ruby and Ivory.  You can find them Here.

The finished mug mat or placemat measures 9″ x 12″, this little mat is a great way to experiment with applique and quilting techniques on a smaller scale.

Purrfect Love Pillow

Love the applique pattern, but don’t want to do any quilting?  The digital pattern also includes the full instructions to make this sweet pillow cover.

Purrfect Love Baby Quilt Pattern

And… for those of you looking for a fun quilt idea, I’ve put together a sweet baby quilt using the Purrfect Love pattern.  This quilt has a girly feel, but you can certainly play with color.  I think a scrappy version would be beautiful!  Feel free to experiment!  The digital pattern includes all fabric requirements and instructions to create a pretty baby quilt, measuring approximately 39″ x 51″.

Create something amazing and be sure to share it with us!  I’d love to see what you come up with!
