Block of the Month Quilt Pattern- Garden Gate

Each month in 2018, I will feature a new block of the month pattern using different quilting and sewing methods.  There is something here for every skill level!  This month, I experimented with freezer paper applique and created a garden of flowers.  This pattern was available until April 14, 2018 and can now be found in my shop.

After the success of the Words to Live By Series last year, I wanted to come up with something just as fun this year.

You can see the current Blocks of the Month patterns here!

My new block of the month series features a pretty 3D version of fabric applique and a simple piecing method.  For this project, I used 4 contrasting dark fabrics and 3 contrasting light fabrics for a scrappy look with lots of blues and yellows.  It’s springtime right?  Let’s celebrate!

Garden Gate Table Topper

The centerpiece for this month’s pattern is an original applique design I am calling Garden Gate.  Create the table topper and give yourself some practice on applique.  The finished Table Topper measures 12″ x 36″ and makes a beautiful gift!

Like the Fabrics? I used a Robert Kaufman Lumina Jewel Fat Quarter Bundle plus some of my yellows that I had in my stash. You can find the Robert Kaufman fabrics Here.

Ready for a challenge?  This quilt has tons of pieces and lots of applique, but the unique 3D applique flowers set it apart from the average quilt.  This one will take some time, but it is guaranteed to be a cherished heirloom.

Create something amazing and be sure to share it with us!  I’d love to see what you come up with!
