Oh My Stars! A New Pattern!

It’s time for another pattern!  Each month in 2018, I will feature a new block of the month pattern using different quilting and sewing methods.  There is something here for every skill level!  This month, our block is not as traditional.  Celebrating with red, white and blue,  we are featuring a block that has pop and is deceptively simple to create!

After the success of the Words to Live By Series last year, I wanted to come up with something just as fun this year.

Oh My Stars!

Summer is going by so quickly this year.  We are parked in the mountains of Montana which believe it or not are still covered with snow!  But summer is here and we are here to celebrate.  So I pulled out some red, white and blue and created a star in a star pattern that is sure to catch your eye.

Oh My Stars Table Topper

Create the table topper and give yourself some practice on applique.  This bright topper not only takes very little time to put together, but will add a bright spot to your summer table.  The finished Table Topper measures 12″ x 12″ and works well as a mug mat, placemat, trivet, wall hanging or small topper.

Oh My Stars Quilt Pattern without Sashing

There are two variations of this quilt.

The Oh My Stars Quilt without Sashing measures 48″ x 60″.  The individual block sizes are 12″ x 12″ and you make 20 blocks with two different color themes. Stay with this size, or take on a challenge and add more blocks to create a queen or king sized quilt!

I also worked up another variation, this is the Oh My Stars pattern with sashing and color variation.  This is 20 ea. 12″ x 12″ blocks worked up in alternating color schemes.  The sashing gives it a whole different look. This quilt measures 54″ x 68″.
