Our Featured Guest Star- Infarrantly Creative

Today our guest star is Beckie from Infarrantly Creative. Beckie is flying in from the Northwest to visit us. My buddy Tom Selleck and I are looking forward to offering her some southern hospitality. Tom and his mustache have been working on putting the Green Room back in order after our New Years celebration.

You see, the Green Room got kinda trashed when everyone started filtering in here after the ball dropped in Times Square. We thought we had a handle on it until Snookie and her crew showed up. Let me tell you, they sure know how to party. It has taken all morning for Tom and I to get all the orange self-tanner off of everything. Here’s a tip for you: don’t buy white couches. Snookie passed out on my white couch and now I have a semi-permanant orange impression of her profile.

And we have a huge collection of unclaimed Bump-its. Need one? I have a drawer full.

And then David Hasselhoff showed up this morning to give us a hand. Since his reality show was cancelled, he’s had a bit of time on his hands and offered to swing by and keep Tom and his mustache company. He has since made himself at home and has been wandering about unshaven, in his pajamas and slippers, playing Tetris on the computer and raiding the fridge. Hardly the impression I want to give my guest! So Tom lured him out on the patio with a plate of hamburgers. (We hear that he really likes them).

So while Mr. Hasselhoff is enjoying his treat, let’s sit down and interview Beckie!

Suzy: Tell me a little about yourself, your family, your other hobbies…
Beckie: My name is Beckie Farrant. I blog at Infarrantly Creative. I also am one of the girls on The CSI Project and Crafterminds. I have been married to Tim for 12 years and we have two kids. Isaac is 4 and Kayla is 2. I love to sew, decoupage, spray paint, refab, refurbish, and reuse. My other hobby includes taking long, hot bubble baths with a Pottery Barn magazine 😉 I also love traveling the world with my hubby once a year while the kiddos stay with grandma.
Suzy: I know you have a very busy life. I also know first hand how time-consuming a good blog is, and you are actually on several great blogs!  How do you schedule it all in?
Beckie: Well I am actually at the spot in blogging where I am making a part time income. So with every job you schedule the time. Currently I “work” from 10 am – 2pm. I also work at night when the kids go to bed for a couple of hours returning emails. It is amazing how it can overtake your life if you let it. But it is an amazing blessing to get paid doing what you love to do.
Suzy: When and why did you start blogging, and where would you like your blogging to lead?
Beckie: I started blogging 3 1/2 years ago. We had just moved across the country and it was a way to keep in contact with where we had left. I was bored out of my gourd in a new place with unfamiliar surroundings and a young baby who slept a lot. It was a way to showcase my talents and a place of escape for me.

Suzy: You blog is a wonderful mix of awesome crafty things. Can you tell me what inspires your posts?
Beckie: Well I love perusing catalogs and reading other blogs. I also get inspired out of need or frustration. For example, I have no where to place books in my child’s room so I create something to address that.
Suzy: Since I’m kinda a crafty blog, I have to ask. Are there any particular crafts that you enjoy the most?
Beckie: I think I love my Roadkill Rescue posts the most, as do my friends at 최고의 토토사이트. I love finding something curbside and transforming it into a beautiful piece for my home. I love thinking outside the box. And finding free stuff allows me to do that without any financial commitment or fear of ruining something.

Suzy: Can you tell us a few things that most folks don’t know about you?
Beckie: I am left handed, super stubborn, and very competitive. I don’t like coffee, have never golfed and want to visit every all 50 states.

Suzy: Since I’m also kinda a sitcom blog, my buddy Tom wants to know if you’ve ever met a celebrity in real life. Other than him of course.
Beckie: I actually saw Brittany Spears when I was shopping in downtown Portland and she was in town for a concert. I went up to her but her “body guard” intercepted and said she didn’t want to be bothered. So she just waved and smiled sweetly.
Suzy: Tom says that she never smiles sweetly at him.  He thinks she must have a thing against mustaches.

Suzy: This crafty blog community is full of wonderful folks. Can you tell me what blogs inspire you the most?
Beckie: Jen from Tatertots and Jello, Sarah from Thrifty Decor Chick, Kate from Centsational Girl, Amy from The Idea Room, Becca from Blue Cricket Design, Heather from Dollar Store Crafts, and Amy from Mod Podge Rocks.

Suzy: Can you tell us a little about what you are promoting right now? Etsy? Linky lists?
Beckie: I am launching a new blog called Knock Off Decor on January 1. It will be a place for bloggers to come to submit their catalog inspired creations. It will showcase all different people’s projects but will also give me a place to showcase some of mine since I love a good knock off creation.
Suzy: Please take a moment and swing by Infarrantly Creative and check out some of the great stuff Beckie has going on!  And take a good look at Beckie’s new website, Knock Off Decor.  She is already showing off tons of inspiring projects on that site.

Beckie, thanks so much for stopping by!  I know that the trip was a long one.  I’d offer you a hamburger, but it looks like Mr. Hasselhoff has finished them off.  He’s laying on the patio right now, eating the last one.

Tom and I would love to take you to Waffle House, though, for a little southern cuisine.  They are running a special of a bowl of chili, topped and chunked with a side of bacon.  Southern healthfood.  Tom charmed his favorite waitress, Jilly Bean, into reserving us some seats at the high counter. The ladies will do anything for Tom and his mustache.  It totally comes in handy sometimes…

And remember, if you and your blog would like to join the party, please email me at myers6281(at)hotmail.com.  I am always looking for new guest stars.  And just think of all the awe in your friends and family’s eyes when you tell them you were actually on a sitcom!  Well, maybe a sitcom in my mind, but lets not get too literal
