Purrfection Cat Our Featured Guest Star- Making the World Cuter

Today, we are welcoming Tiffany from Making the World Cuter. Tiffany comes to us all the way from the great state of Oregon. Seems like all my guest crafters have to travel pretty darn far just for an interview. I’m hoping that the presence of my buddy Tom Selleck and his mustache makes their travel worth it. Oh, and the mustache? Well, apparently it has it’s own facebook page now. Ya know, it’s possible that when I gave it it’s own dressing room that it might have totally gone to it’s head. Well, if it had a head…Now it seems to be getting just a tad conceited. You can find it at http://www.facebook.com/tomsellecksmustache, when it isn’t hanging out under Tom’s nose.

Speaking of Tom, he hasn’t been much help getting the Green Room ready this time. He’s invited his buddy William Shatner over for a big football watching marathon. He’s got the big screen set up and munchies strewn about and both of them have been lounging around in sweat pants all morning doing manly things like burping, making crude jokes and scratching. Men.

I had been investigating a trail of crumbs earlier this week that seemed to be coming from the pantry. I fully suspected mouse issues, so I had asked Tom to get some traps at the store. Unfortunately, they were not nearly big enough as the “mouse” turned out to be David Hasselhoff, who has apparently been sleeping on a cot in my pantry for the last week. Since his sitcom was cancelled, he’s had some free time on his hands and we have been trying to evict him for a week now with no luck. Sigh…

So rather than subject poor Tiffany to the rowdy boys club and the mustache with an ego in the Green Room, I will interview her in my office.

Suzy: Tell me a little about yourself, your family, your other hobbies…
Tiffany: My name is Tiffany, I am married to a dream hunk and have four fantastically cute blue eyed babies, ages 6, 4, 2 and 3 months old. I am a stay at home mom, just finishing up my associates degree in web design, I am a photographer and a lover of delicious food.

Suzy: When and why did you start blogging, and where would you like your blogging to lead?
Tiffany: I started blogging about four years ago as a way to share family photos with far away relatives. I started sharing some of the things I was making and doing around the house and Making the World Cuter was born of that. I guess my goal in blogging is to do what I love and share what I love to do-and one day have someone come up to me when I am on vacation or something and say, “Hey aren’t you that blogging girl on Making the World Cuter?” You know my 15 seconds of fame is really what I’m after! Ha! 🙂
Suzy: Can you tell us a few things that most folks don’t know about you?
Tiffany: Hummm…a few things most folks don’t know about me? I’m really an open book! If I don’t like something-you know it, and vice versa! Let’s see though-I have freckles on my left foot-I love them, I could drink hot cocoa every day of the year, I avoid stress like the plague and Chad, (my hubby) is my all time favorite person, (no secret there).

Suzy: Your blog is a wonderful mix of crafty things, photography and money saving tips. Can you tell me what inspires your posts?

Tiffany: Ahh thanks! I guess just whatever is going on in my world at the moment! Whatever is making the world cuter in my eyes…usually my kids and doing whatever I can to make them smile. We are students at the moment, so saving money is a must, but I still want to make things and have fun. I want my kids to look back on these days and not think about how we didn’t have much money, but instead think about how much fun we had living simply.

Suzy: Since I’m kinda a crafty blog, I have to ask. Are there any particular crafts that you enjoy the most?
Tiffany: Crafts I enjoy most are those that can last for a long time without going out of style…my favorite things are wooden toys that I can pass down from one kid to the next and when I have grandkids I would love to still have them be in good shape for them to play with.

Suzy: I know you have a very busy life. I also know first hand how time-consuming a good blog is. How do you schedule it all in?

Tiffany: I don’t! There are days my husband comes home and looks at my turned upside down house, my kids are crafting some disaster at the table, I’m still in my pajamas with paint under my fingernails and he can’t understand why I have a smile on my face that says, “I’ve had a successful day today.” Luckily he is the most supportive man on the planet and my number one fan, he reads every comment, celebrates every new follower with me and glows with pride when someone says something nice about me or features me on their blog. I wouldn’t be able to do it without him doing the dishes and changing diapers while I write up a post or take pictures for a tutorial.

Suzy: Since I’m also kinda a sitcom blog, my buddy Tom wants to know if you’ve ever met a celebrity in real life. Other than him of course.

Tiffany: Well Tom, I haven’t met a lot of celebrities in my days-I’ve seen them though-at Universal Studios my friend and I rode the escalator behind the old guy in Jurassic Park, my friend hit him on the head with her poster she was carrying just to be sure, he gave us a strange look-we were obnoxious 15 year old girls, so all we did was giggle.
Tiffany: I saw Marie Osmond at a fabric store, she was in her pajamas and her hair was a wreck, I didn’t think she would appreciate me going up to her and gushing for an autograph, I know I would be mortified looking like that if someone were to do that to me! 🙂
Suzy: Ha! Tom just ran off to check his hair!
Tiffany: I have met some blogging celebrities in real life and some are my in real life friends! Kim from Todays Creative Blog, I met at a scrapbook convention in Portland, Julie from Leelou blogs lives in my town-we book club together and Summer from Sumo’s Sweet Stuff is one of my good friends daughters, her daughter is going to marry my son. I think blogging celebrities are way better than movie stars! 🙂
Suzy:This crafty blog community is full of wonderful folks. Can you tell me what blogs inspire you?
Tiffany: Inspiring Blogs? Where do I start? I LOVE opening my email to Todays Creative Blog and seeing the new inspiration every day, Jen at Tatertots and Jello always has something that makes me slap my head and say “duh, why didn’t I think of that?” And of course Ree at Pioneer Woman makes me laugh almost every single day. I so enjoy looking at all the links on my Monday link parties, and wish I had the time to read every single one of their blogs-so much cute and inspiring blogs out there, and when my kids are a little older and I have a little more time to myself I intend to read all of them!
Suzy: Can you tell us a little about what you are promoting right now? Your photography? Etsy? Linky lists?
Tiffany: I have a Making the World Cuter Monday Link Party every Monday that I would love for everyone to enjoy so I can see all the cuteness that blog-dom has to offer! 🙂

Suzy: Tiffany is also an amazing photographer. Check out her other blog at Pumpernickel Buttons Photography.

Tiffany, thank you so much for taking the time to talk with us!  Please take a moment to swing by Tiffany’s site, Making the World Cuter and check out all the exciting things she has to offer!

Well, it’s getting a little loud in there, so we probably better go break it up. Tom and Bill have been doing their best to get Mr. Hasselhoff out the door, but he’s rather stubborn. Since having Scotty beam him up wasn’t possible, Bill put him in a red shirt hoping that he would be mistaken for a dispensible crew member. No such luck.

Then Tom and Bill tried luring him out on the patio with cheese doodles. While they were making the trail out the door, Mr. Hasselhoff locked it behind them. In fact, he’s now in my favorite recliner holding the remote control hostage and threatening to switch the channel to Toddlers and Tiaras. Apparently, you shouldn’t hassel the Hoff.
