More Random Wanderings

1.  The husband and I took a little sidetrip to Savannah, GA last week.  With his new job, he doesn’t get real vacation until next year, so we are fitting a small trip in whenever we can.  After all, we have no children at home anymore!  We are free!  We can run around the house naked if we wanted to!

2.  Not that we’d actually do that…it’s the fact that we can that counts!  Seriously, the dogs stare…

3.  Our new GPS unit is a loud talker.  We can’t figure out how to make it not scream directions at us.  And it mumbles when it isn’t sure how to pronounce the name of a street.  In fact, I’m not sure English is it’s first language.  It entertained us for quite a while as it screamed out things like, “Turn right on blblblblblde Avenue and then proceed straight down akskalsksa road!!  NOW!….I said turn on blbblblblbde Avenue!!”

4.  Well, we were entertained until it gave us both headaches and we turned it off.  My hubby says he already has one annoying, demanding, crazy woman screaming at him in the car, why would he want another one.

5.  He’s totally kidding…I don’t scream.

6.  We ate at our favorite restaurant, The Crab Shack, where you can order this awesome plate of seafood.
7.  And we ate it all.  Short of licking the plate, even though it was certainly a thought.
8.  They have cats there wandering around that are so fat, their tummies almost touch the ground when they walk.  I’m betting they are pretty well fed.  I offered this one a shrimp and he looked at me, burped, and said, “ummm…that’s okay”.
9.  The city of Savannah was beautiful, of course.  And incredibly hot.  As usual.  Doesn’t matter what time of year we visit, it is hot.

10.  We also visited the beach at Tybee Island, just off the shore of Savannah.  The hubby and I sat and enjoyed the sunset on the beach, hand in hand.  Our first romantic vacation in years.  Well, maybe ever.  And as we sat there enjoying each others company and the beautiful view and he leaned toward me for a sweet kiss, a random seagull dropped a humongous, steaming bunch of poopee on his shoulder…

11.  Sigh…

  3. That looks like so much fun! My parents went to Savannah a few years back, and brought back incredible pictures. And that plate of seafood is making me drool …
