Creating a Wrapped Canvas Photo with Easy Canvas Prints

A few weeks ago, I was contacted by Easy Canvas Prints, a company that specializes in taking digital photographs and turning them into amazing wrapped canvas art.  They asked me to do a review of their product here on the Sitcom and in exchange would give me wrapped canvas of my favorite photo.  I was thrilled to check it out.

My only issue was decided what photo I would like to immortalize in canvas.  And then it came to me.  The Sitcom is dedicated to my father.  I don’t even know why I had to think about it.

This photo is of me and my dad, taken at my sister’s wedding some 25 years ago, during the now infamous “wedding cake fiasco”.  You see, my sister asked me to make her wedding cake.  Granted, she was young and had no idea at the time what a total clutz I am in the kitchen.  She just knew that I made pretty things with icing. The young- they are so naïve. And me, well I’m certainly not gonna let my younger sister know that I don’t know how to do something.

Unfortunately, I didn’t take the time to read up on proper structure for a four-tier cake and made the entire cake without supports. So, I spent the day of the wedding trying to put that massive cake together and keep it that way, discovering at the very last moment that I could not put on the most important tier (the top one) without the entire cake toppling over.  I was more stressed out than the bride and groom put together.

We made the executive decision to not put the top on the cake until they were ready to take the photos.  And if you look carefully at any of the photos of her and her husband cutting the cake, you will see my hand in the background ready to catch the cake as it slowly starts to lean to the side.

With the top of the cake safely set aside and the partiers all happily eating wedding cake, I plopped down in my Dad’s lap for a well deserved breather.  And that is when this shot was taken.  It has always been my favorite photo of me and dad together.  Because my dad always had total faith in my abilities and always was there to support me.  Even when I was a total clutz, he was still proud of me.

One of the great things about Easy Canvas Prints is that their website walks you step by step through the process of ordering a canvas, with lots of choices as to size, edging, thickness of the canvas and any special effects.  They even have a great idea gallery if you need a plan.

I followed their easy process to order my canvas photo, attached a digital version of the photo, and received the finished canvas less than a week later.  They did a fabulous job with the photo.  The canvas wrap is high quality and done very well.  I can highly recommend them to anyone that wants to turn their favorite photo into a work of art.
