Something colorful—and just a little unpredictable—is coming to Suzy’s Sitcom!
Welcome to the Chaos Challenge Crochet Along! If you have never heard the term used before, here at the Sitcom, a Chaos blanket is the result of allowing chance and a spinning wheel to choose the color of the yarn, the crochet stitch and number of rows of that stitch. I’m creating my own Chaos Blanket using my own rules and you are welcome to join along!

Rules of the Game
Step 1: Decide Your Size I have decided to use a “H” (size 8 or 5mm) Crochet hook and medium weight acrylic yarn. I created a starting chain of 200 chains, measuring about 60″. The fun part about this crochet along is that anything you choose is correct. So go with what works for you!
Step 2: Colors Use your stash, choose a selection of colors, or choose a theme (thinking Halloween, Fall, Christmas, Spring, Baby, etc). What works best for you? I do not currently have a yarn stash, so I chose a selection of eight colors that I love together. I chose: Antique Teal, Terra Cotta, Glacier, Dark Denim, Gray Confetti, Cherry Blossom, Clover and Ivory.
Step 3: Randomly choose your first color! I wrapped a bit of yarn around 8 different popsicle sticks and then put them in a bowl. Sort through the bowl with eyes closed and pull out a color!
Step 4: Choosing a Stitch. I perused the internet and found 50 different crochet stitches that will make this blanket interesting! I will not use them all, but plan on not repeating any of them. You can download the free list HERE. Chaos Crochet Stitches. I used the Free Spinning Wheel Random Number Generator that I found here to choose which stitch.
Step 5: Choose number of rows for each round. I will use the spinning wheel again, setting it for 1 through 8 to choose my number of rows. Another option would be a pair of dice!
