As a participant in this campaign with Walmart, I have received compensation for my time and efforts in creating this post. All thoughts and opinions are my own. #ShoptoGive #WeSparkChange
I love the idea of being able to help those in need just by purchasing a product that I regularly use. It is a win-win situation! So I was very excited when I discovered that if you purchase certain Unilever, General Mills, ConAgra, Campbell’s, Kellogg’s, or Kraft products from Walmart, money will be donated to Feeding AmericaⓇ.
In an effort to give back, I created a meal featuring two products that are participating in this campaign! I created a simple recipe for Tangy Barbeque Pork Chops.
And yes, they are cooked on the grill! Because nothing tastes better than grilled pork chops! Oh, and there is the small fact that if it is cooked on the grill, the hubby insists on doing it. Like I said, win-win.
According to the USDA, 1 in 6 Americans can struggle from hunger. But we can help both on social media and with purchases of participating products at Walmart!
I purchased Knorr Chicken and Broccoli, Hunt’s Manwich, Kellogg’s Giant Mini Wheats, General Mills Giant Size Honey Nut Cheerios, Campbell’s Chunky Sirloin Soup, and a Kraft Macaroni and Cheese 5-pack. Each product was marked with the Feeding AmericaⓇ logo, and each purchase equals one meal!
There are three ways that you can help:
- 1 purchase item = 1 meal*
- Register giving ($1, $2, $5 or other)
- Social sharing 1x = 1 meal
*The monetary equivalent of meals will be donated. $0.10 is equivalent to one meal secured by Feeding AmericaⓇ on behalf of local member food banks. See Walmart.com/FightHunger for details.
Easy Tangy Barbequed Pork Chops
Pork Chops
1 can Manwich Sloppy Joe sauce
1 cup Apricot Jam
3 green onions, chopped
This recipe is so easy! Simply open the Manwich and pour in a bowl.
Add in the onions and Apricot Jam. Mix well.
Then wait for the hubby to get the grill ready. Ummm… and maybe move the pork chops to a slightly safer location…
You know he is waiting for me to turn my back, don’t you?
Once the grill is ready, place the porkchops on and grill, turning them occasionally.
When the pork chops are nearly done, spoon the sauce over them. Turn once more and add sauce to the back of the chop. Serve when nicely cooked. Yumm!
Take a moment and share this great campaign on social media. Each share equals one meal for someone that needs it! And be sure to check your local Walmart for participating products. Make a difference for someone in need!
