I’m a big fan of spicy food.  And I love a bit of variety.  We currently live full time in our RV while traveling the country, and I am always looking for an excuse to cook on the grill.  So when the folks at La Morena asked me to try some of their products, it was the perfect time to experiment with my version of Spicy Mexican Style Pizza on the grill!

Yep.  Pretty darn spicy.  This recipe is for those that can handle a good kick.  And cooking pizza on the grill is a great choice.  The grill adds a great smokey taste to the crust that you simply cannot get with a conventional oven.

And the best part?  Well, this recipe takes just minutes to make!

La Morena products add authentic Latino flavors to your traditional American dishes. Their products can be found at the Hispanic aisle at Walmart.  They have lots to choose from.  For this recipe, I chose Chipotle Peppers in Adobo Sauce and Sliced Pickled Jalapeno Peppers.

Not a fan of so much heat?  Leave one or the other off of a pizza, or add a bit of sour cream.  Yumm!

Add pizza sauce to each pre-made crust.

Cover each pizza crust with the meat and pepper mixture.  On my pizza, I added the La Morena Sliced Pickled Jalapeno Peppers.  The hubby wimped out and wanted to skip this step on his pizza.

Some of us are tougher than others.

Just saying.

Cover each pizza with a nice layer of shredded cheese.

Meanwhile, have the hubby warm up the grill.  If you use charcoal like we do, be sure the coals are white.

Cover the grill with a layer of thick aluminum foil sprayed lightly with vegetable oil, and place the pizza on top.  After the crust starts to brown, close the lid of the grill to melt the cheese and heat up the toppings.

At this point, your camper neighbors will start looking at you funny.  Ignore them. They have no idea what they are missing…

Carefully remove the pizza from the grill when the crust has browned and the toppings are hot and melted.

Now add shredded lettuce and slice avocados!  Fabulous!

It was really nice to have a spicy dish for a change.  Maine is a great place to live, but lobster and seafood gets a bit old sometimes.
