Floral Handpainted Ornaments

I am currently in the midst of a ton of crafty projects, including trying to come up with this year’s Ornament Club ornaments. This post shows what I made last year.  This year’s project is a secret, so in the meantime, check out this post from last year.

My Christmas Ornament club meets in early December.  Our club has been meeting now for the past 20 years.  It consists of crafty friends and relatives, approximately 15-18 of us every year who make ornaments and exchange them right before Christmas.  Every year, I get 15-18 new handmade ornaments for my tree.  Multiply that by twenty years, and suffice it to say, I have a ton of hand-made ornaments.

But I’m a firm believer that there is no such thing as too many ornaments.

Being the glutton for punishment that I am, I always choose something extremely time-consuming and difficult and struggle to get it completed every year. But I do work best in a time crunch and I guess if I wasn’t totally stressed each year, well it just wouldn’t be the holiday season.

I love floral ornaments and decided to do something in that realm.   I used a large 4″ glass ornament, and added fine glitter to make the flowers glow.  And then got out my acrylic paints and got busy.

Here are my 16 ornaments for this weekend’s meeting:
