Easy Garlic Butter Shrimp Scampi- dinner in less than 20 minutes!

This post brought to you by McCormick & Company. All opinions are 100% mine.

My family enjoys flavorful, homemade meals.  But with a full time job and much to do around the house, I often have trouble finding time to make a fancy meal.  The folks at McCormick.com have come up with a plan to help out with that.  McCormick offers a large selection of spices and recipe mixes that can help you make something amazing in very little time.  I used their Garlic Butter Shrimp Scampi Seasoning Mix to create this amazing meal in less than 20 minutes!

Looks good, doesn’t it?  Would you believe the majority of the time spent making it involved peeling shrimp?  And I wouldn’t have had to do that, but the hubby is rather particular.

I was playing around with my video camera, wanting to create a small video that show you just how fast you can make this delicious meal.  Here is my intro.  It does get better, I promise.  The Mickey Mouse voice stays the same, though.

Stick with me- there is a cool giveaway at the end of this post!

Okay, let’s get down to business!

Go to McCormick for the full recipe for Garlic Butter Shrimp Scampi.  I made a few substitutions such as using whole grain pasta instead of regular and of course peeling the darn shrimp, but other than that, I followed the easy recipe.

Here is a video of the process, just to show you how quick you can put together this meal.  Keep in mind, I’m not the best cook in the world…oh and I apparently have a Mickey Mouse voice, and a ridiculous southern accent.  You’ve been warned…

Quick, right?   The final touch is to add the drained pasta to the shrimp mixture.  Looks like I know what I’m doing, right?

I served it with baked wheat rolls and a nice green side salad.  The hubby was impressed!  I told him it was tough and I had been working hard on that batch of shrimp all evening, cooking over a hot stove.  I stopped just short of dabbing some flour on my nose.

He told me that standing over a hot stove was good for me.  No sympathy here.  ha!  And then he ate two servings.  I think he might have liked it.

McCormick offers lots of great recipes on their website, and many of them are easy 20 minutes or less recipes.  Perfect for your busy lifestyle.  And folks will think you slaved in the kitchen for hours!
