10 Best DIY Halloween projects from the Sitcom!

The Sitcom has been around for three years, and throughout those three years, I have tried to come up with unique, fun DIY projects to create for every season.  Halloween is a fun time of year and the Sitcom has many popular projects for the holiday!  Here are the 10 most popular DIY Halloween projects according to my readers, all in one convenient place!

I don’t do scary.  My version of Halloween is all cutesy with purples, greens, oranges, silly monsters, and fun pumpkins.  So if you are cool with the not so scary side of Halloween, you will enjoy these popular projects!

Halloween DIY Mummy Wreath

How about something colorful for your door?  I created a cute Halloween DIY Mummy Wreath using recycled paper towel tubes and a gourd.  My new mummy’s name is Monty. Ever since my Paisley Chicken project, I’ve had a fondness for gourd crafts.  With quite a few stored in my closet, I thought it was about time I created something for Halloween.  This project is easy to make, takes very little time, and makes a cute welcome wreath for your door.

Scented Jack O Lantern Tea Lights

Create a whole mess of Jack O Lantern Tea Lights with Navel Oranges!  Scented with allspice, they make the whole house smell wonderful!  I found a way to combine the Halloween “scary-ness” with the natural scents of oranges and spices.

Halloween Hooty Owl No-Sew “Quilted” Wall Art

I created these cute Halloween Hooty Owls using some bright Halloween fabrics and FloraCraft® Make It: Fun® Foam.  It has a quilted look, but involves no sewing!  Perfect for brightening up your house for the holidays, these cute owls are my version of a non-scary Halloween.

 Witchy-Poo Broom

I decided to bring back an old 80′s craft using crushed aluminum cans. Crushed can art was pretty darn popular many years ago and everything imaginable was made from aluminum cans, from Christmas ornaments to Easter bunnies. So how about witches? Certainly!

The folks at Wonder bread challenged me to come up with a kid-approved lunch box sandwich.  This took a little thought.  After all, my kids are grown and gone.  All I have left are my two doggies and my husband…

Monster Shelf and Potholders

When the nice folks at RIT Dye sent me a box of their liquid dyes to try out, I’m betting they never expected a shelf full of monsters.  But that’s just kind of the way we roll around here at The Sitcom.

Jeweled Pumpkin

The daughter and I wanted to carve pumpkins, and of course we wanted to make ours a bit different. Because that’s the way my family rolls. You certainly can’t expect the norm from us. I have been playing around with the idea of a “jeweled pumpkin” and my daughter wanted to make something to cheer up her hubby who is currently serving in the military.

Holiday Book Decorations

This is a little project that I put together in order to use up some of my vast collection of knicky-knacks that I pick up at the Dollar Store.  I created two unique “book decorations” for my study book shelf that use only dollar store items and an old book.

Marvin the Mummy and Friends

I found these blocks at the major discount price of fifty cents each at the craft store some time ago. There were only three, and I had absolutely no idea what I was going to do with them, but at that price I couldn’t afford not to buy them. So they have been sitting patiently waiting in my craft closet for inspiration to strike. And it finally did.  This is my very first toilet paper tube project!

Candied Pumpkin Seeds Recipe

Pumpkin seeds are awesome.  You could just roast them and eat them and be all healthy and all.  Most folks do that.  But we are talking chez Sitcom here.  We specialize in taking healthy and making it sugary and tasty.  So I grabbed my brown sugar and made my version of candied pumpkin seeds.  Because really, somebody had to do it.
