I’d love to show you a method to create decorative painted designs the simple way. I’m talking about stencils. Stencils not only make life easier when painting multiple pieces, but they can serve as a great base for a much more elaborate design!
When I sit down to paint, I find that I have a tendency to get pretty elaborate. I love swirls and colors and flowery designs. So when I ran across these pretty stencils, I could not resist! These stencils have so much potential. Create a stepping stone with just the stencil itself, or go crazy and add lots of your own touches to the design!
Whether you simply use a stencil and end it there, or add a bunch of your own designs, your end result will be something beautiful for your garden! So, let’s create!

I decided to create my own design based on a pattern that I did about a year ago, The Queen of Hearts. The Queen of Hearts was done in acrylic paint on a table top. She is one of my more popular premium patterns.
But the poor queen has had nobody to talk to in over a year, so I decided to create her sister, the Queen of Spades. After all, I needed something very detailed to bring out the vibrant colors in the art pencils.
And you can download the Queen of Spades pattern FREE here!
This easy stained glass project is even more fun with a good pattern. One of my specialties is creating unique patterns like the Majestic Peacock Pattern used in this tutorial. CLICK HERE for the tutorial!
