Random Busy-ness

1.  There has been a lot going on here at the Sitcom in the past few weeks and a bunch of stuff coming up.  My friend Ranja from Charm Design has offered up the opportunity to win one of her amazing square zipper pouches.  Deadline is Thursday, July 14.  Be sure to click here and enter!

2.  Be sure to stop by tomorrow and link up your blog to my International Blog Hop!  My buddy Tom Selleck, his mustache and I will be interviewing an awesome craft blogger. The interview and blog hop will go live simultaneously with four other bloggers located all around the world.  A great way to do a bit of traveling without ever leaving your seat!

3.  On July 19, The Sitcom and Discount Sewing Supply have teamed up to present to you a beginners quilting series.  This four week series will walk you through putting together an amazing summer laptop quilt designed by me and using an exclusive Jelly Roll Fabric set put together specially for this project by Patricia at Discount Sewing Supply.  Stay tuned!

4.  On the homefront things have been busy too.  The hubby had to have his gallbladder removed.  Which meant that I became not only a secretary/crafter, but a nurse/mower of the lawn/trash taker outer/chauffeur/and all-around gofer person.

5.  The hubby is a real stickler for the care of his lawn and he successfully back-seat mowed me for two weeks in a row.  Not that he doesn’t have a case.  I have to admit that over the past few years when I did help him out with the yard, I’ve had a few tiny little incidences.

6.  The seat on that riding mower is deceivingly slippery.  Really, they should put some kind of skid resistance on it or something.  Since, I have difficulty adjusting my speed, I’ve actually slid off the thing twice going around corners.  Did you know that the mower will shut off when you fall off the seat?  Technology is just crazy!  The neighbors think I’m a walking comedy show.

7.  And then there was that slight incident when I forgot how to brake and I drove right through my husband’s front flower bed, leaving a three feet wide path of stubs.  He was totally not amused.

8.  Suffice it to say that my lawn mowing abilities were found lacking.  Oh and so were my driving abilities.

9.  I can take out a mean can of trash though.

10.  Just saying.
