The husband and I are both big fans of carrot cake. Well, we are a fan of desserts, and most anything that is sweet for that matter. So when I ran across M&M’s® Carrot Cake while shopping at Walmart the other day, I was intrigued. How can you make a candy taste like carrot cake? Is that even possible?
I’m here to tell you, yes it is! In fact, we loved them so much that I created Sweet Carrot Cake Parfaits with them!
This fun recipe took no time at all to make and it makes a sweet, colorful and unusual dessert! Perfect for a fun family gathering! Want to know how to make it?
Of course, the main colorful ingredient is M&M’s® Carrot Cake. So how do they make them taste like carrot cake? I’m sure that is a top secret file hidden in a lab somewhere behind guards; under lock and key. Somewhere there is a carrot cake recipe guard filing his nails and waiting for the next candy criminal to try and break the underground barriers….
Yep, I know. I have a runaway imagination. But isn’t it fun to imagine? I’m sure the guard is dressed in a colorful candy coating and is armed with a slingshot that flings mini M&M’s®. Right?
But the center of the M&M’s® are actually a white chocolate, which I’m sure makes it easier to create the flavor of carrot cake. Either way, they are delicious on their own, but even more fun in a yummy carrot cake dessert!
Sweet Carrot Cake Parfaits

3 carrots, shredded and patted dry
M&M’s® Carrot Cake
Whipped Cream topping
In medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt and cinnamon. Mix in the sugar, vegetable oil, egg and milk.
Stir in the shredded carrots.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes until lightly browned, and a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Allow the cake to fully cool before going to the next step.
Cut the carrot cake into 1″ cubes. Add them to the bottom of your glasses. Top with a layer of M&M’s® Carrot Cake, and then a layer of whipped topping. Then sprinkle with more M&M’s® Carrot Cake!
What a pretty, colorful dessert! Perfect for a festive Easter treat!
