Happy Mother’s Day from the Sitcom!

Just wanted to wish you all a Happy Mother’s Day! And I wanted to take the opportunity to introduce you to my mother on this special day.

Since we are a crafty blog here, I’ll tell you about one of her many talents.  While I have great respect for all those amazing designers out there, I have to say that the person that most inspires me is my mother.  My crafty side comes from my Mom.  Mom is an expert in crochet, and many years ago (let’s not go into how many), my mom sat down and patiently showed me how to crochet.  I started with scarves and practiced and practiced because I wanted to be able to make some of the amazing things that my mother could make.

My mom makes amazing things, like this beautiful crocheted doily, made from that tiny crochet thread that totally drives me crazy.  And both my sister and I have been the lucky recipients of many crocheted afghans, pillows, pot holders and much more over the years.

You will often see Mom on the Sitcom helping out with the latest project.  Mom comes over to the house many weekends to offer her advice and give me a hand!  Here she is cutting styrofoam for the All You Need is Love Faux Pallet Art!

She is even willing to help out with the occasional sponsored post!

Mom is a fabulous cook too!  This is one talent she didn’t really share with me.  LOL!  She has contributed several very popular recipe tutorials to the Sitcom based on her Pennsylvania Dutch heritage including Shoo-Fly Pie and Pennsylvania Dutch Apple Dumplings.

And if you need someone to look silly and show off your Silly Snowmen Sunglasses.  Well, she is your go-to gal!

She has influenced me to always try new things and has given me the confidence to know that I can do anything I set my mind to.  And she continues to inspire me every day.

I want to thank you, Mother,
for your patience…
your encouragement…
your strength…
your generosity…
your unswerving love…
and for those six little words
that helped me through
so many trying times…
“…because I said so, that’s why!”

Happy Mother’s Day!
