I’m all ears…literally. So…do you have a question?
I have been writing the Sitcom and creating craft tutorials left and right for the past four years. I am always looking for ways to improve what I present and would certainly love to have some input from you!
What questions do you have? What things would you like to see in the future? Would you like to see some layout changes on the blog? Any particular craft that you would like a tutorial on? Anything you really hate? Anything about me that totally has you intrigued? Are you tossing and turning at night wanting to know answers?
I’m all ears.
Seriously. They both stick out ridiculously. The right ear further than the left. Hence the big hair… but let’s get back to the subject at hand…
This is your opportunity to un-lurk. Ask me some questions, give me some input. Throw in your “two cents”!
I’ll get you started by answering a few frequently asked questions.
1. Why is your website called the Sitcom? You can read all about that on my Sitcom Cast page, along with a bit of info on me and the other cast members. You know, the dogs. Oh, and the hubby too. But in essence, my life is a sitcom, (which makes it incredibly easy to write about the funny things that always seem to happen to me).
2. Where is a good place to start for first time visitors? First and foremost, the Sitcom offers over 200 Tutorials for all ages, including paper crafts, holiday crafts, recipes, kids crafts, quilting, and much more. The tutorial page is a great place to start if you are trying to come up with your next big project or just happen to have a pile of TP rolls or disposable cookie sheets that need to be made beautiful. Crafting with recycled materials or Dollar Store items has never been so fun.
3. Wow. That’s a lot of tutorials! Which ones are your most popular? You can find the most popular tutorials for 2013 here. Turns out I’m the “Toilet Paper Queen”! Who knew?
4. Do you offer free stuff? Well, certainly. I totally have your back. The Sitcom offers an extensive list of free patterns to go along with your free tutorials. Easily printed, you can then use a copier to make them any size you might need for your project.
5. What about quilt patterns? Love quilting? Me too! I have recently put all my quilt patterns in one place for your convenience! You can find my quilt patterns here.
6. Can I share my project with you? Of course! I feature reader’s projects all the time! Just email me at suzy(at)suzyssitcom.com. Do you have a shop or website that you would like to promote? Check out my Advertising page for details on ads! The Sitcom receives over 2 million page views a year. That is a whole lot of promotion!
7. Do you sell stuff too? Yep! Need an unusual gift, or are you interested in my premium patterns and kits? Be sure to stop by the Sitcom Store to see what is currently available!
8. How do I search the site for what I want? The search bar is located at the top of the right sidebar. Check the drop-down list for the items that might interest you!
9. How do I subscribe? You can have the Sitcom sent to your email, by subscribing here. And every subscriber gets a free copy of my Enchanted Fish Pattern!
Okay- there you go. Some frequently asked questions answered for you in one handy-dandy place.
Now tell me, what questions do you have for me? I’d love any suggestions, any project ideas, anything from you, my valued reader! Ask away!

I heard u could mix acrylic paint with clear glue to make stain paint?
Hi Heather!
For painting on glass, I would recommend using paint that is specifically for glass. Martha Stewart has a whole new line of glass paints out that are reasonably priced. They are waterproof and will last. If you choose to glue embellishments on top, be sure to use a glue that is meant for glass. Hot glue is not an option. I use one called E6000 that only costs a couple dollars a tube and adheres to glass well. Regarding varnish, I don’t believe the glass paints require that, but if you choose to, a spray clear varnish should work well.
Here is a good tutorial on basic glass painting: http://lyndamakara.hubpages.com/hub/simple-glass-painting-ideas-for-recycled-jars
Hope that helps!

Hi Moira!
Wow! A move to Spain has to be exciting! That would be a great thing to blog about!
Thank you so much for being a reader of the Sitcom! I try hard to come up with projects that appeal to everyone. Would love to see what you make once you get settled in!

Hi Jaan!
I do get a lot of spam comments trying to add links to my website without my permission. It is one of the things that all bloggers have to deal with. I can’t think of any really odd comments because in my opinion, there isn’t really a bad question. I did have one teenager who wanted me to talk to her mother about letting her have more time on the internet. LOL!
As for packing up the RV, well we are on that. I will be talking about the entire transition on the Sitcom as we get things done. I have started a series this week on how to get a house ready for sale. So stay tuned!

I can’t vouch for others, but I know with my contests I use a service called Rafflecopter. I allow Rafflecopter to randomly pick the winners. Yes, the emailers are included. As for bloggers answering. Well, I can tell you that I personally get about 200 emails a day. It is so easy to get terminally behind. I try to answer all my emails, but I imagine there are a few that fall through the cracks. I very much love to get comments, so I do try to respond.
Maybe a pretty pillow or two? I’ve also seen tatted fabric used in skirts, cloth purses and more. If I was you, I’d check out a few sewing patterns that you could incorporate the tatting into! Would love to see what you come up with!

Thank you so much! I have fallen a bit behind on the Holiday Blog, but am working on catching it up. I have been trying to put out fresh posts on it at least every other day.

Hi Debbie,
Great idea! I will definitely look into that. Maybe something for the holidays! Thank you!

Thank you so much, Carla!! I will definitely get on that!
Hi Suzy, I would like to see ideas .and how to`s for painting on old glass bottles etc. There are so many going around on Mason jars that it is confusing. What is waterproof, what is not, can you glue embellishments on top , do you varnish ? etc etc . Thankyou
Hi Suzy. so glad I found your blog. would like to do one myself. I did try once but not very successful at it. May have another go, not sure as I like reading other peoples blogs. Yours is a happy and quirky blog I like to read. Thanks also for the freebies and tutorials, they are much appreciated as I am retired and have lkmited income. I look forward to making some of your ideas. This will have to be later on though as we are preparing to move to Spain so everything is hectic here. I am storing up my ideas and stash stuff so I can get busy after we move. keep up the happy blog and having a fun life. God bless.

I thought of a question, but it doesn’t deal with your blog. So, I just would like to know what are some of the oddest or weirdest questions or comments you have received? Also, hope you will tell us about items you thought were lost but found while packing up your house. Or any tips you have for packing up your RV. Always here, ready and waiting to read about your ” sitcom”

I bought some sheets at a garage sale that had beautiful tatting across the top. No idea what to do with them but thought some blog or pin could give me some ideas. To date I have found none. What can I do to make it useable?
HI SUZY I LOVE your Sitcom. I really enjoyed your holiday challenge. i also love your HOLIDAY BLOG but i have not received any in quite awhile. May God watch over you as you travel around this beautiful country.
I would love to see more patterns that would fit on trivets. I love the ones you have had in the past. Thanks for sharing all of your great ideas.
Hi Suzy….love your blog. With the winter months and cold weather ahead of us, I would love to see some tutorials for crochet blankets, scarves. Also some tutorials on quilling. I loved your “butterfly” in the mason jar tutorial. Keep up the great blog….and thanks for bringing sunshine into my life. 🙂
Oh, YES!! I’m an email saver kinda gal, too,& this would be Uber-helpful! And, why, exactly, would I hope for such a thing? Because I love your blog, of course! 🙂
Hi Suzy,
I’m new here but I would LOVE tutorials on all types of paper flowers, egg carving, clay projects, furniture refurbishing, making molds, decorating…Oh my gosh I could go on and on! I am sooo excited I found you! I LOVE this site!!!!!!!

Great point, Janice! I didn’t even think of that! Currently I’m in the process of moving my feeds and subscription services over to MailChimp. They offer a ton of great options, and I will definitely check into this. Those of you that subscribe to the daily feed or the newsletter should in the next few weeks start seeing prettier emails and easier to read text for any type of device. I am told the move will be seamless, so you don’t have to do anything on your end.
I will see what can be done about the title. I’m betting that is just something I haven’t figured out yet.
Thank you, Joyce! You totally put a smile in my day! And yes, I get very little sleep. Ha! Currently, I work a full time job in the “real world”, and this little ol’ blog takes up another additional 60 hours plus each week. And that is not counting crafting time. Fortunately for me, the hubby and the dogs understand that it is something I absolutely love to do. After all, the blog will be three years old in a few months!
Thank you for being a regular reader, Joyce. And I’d love to be your long distance best friend. 🙂
Hi Deb!
Oooh…ads. Yep. I figured I might get a suggestion or two on them. The website revamp is in progress and the ads are going to be changed up a bit to make them less irritating. As for the pop up that you are talking about, I’ve noticed that recently too and I am trying to narrow down which ad network it might be. In the meantime, if it really makes you irritated (especially pre-coffee), enable your pop-up blocker on your computer.
I will do a bit of research and see if I can fix that issue on my end. Ads are my income, they help pay for the blog’s existence, but I also do not want them bothering my visitors. Recently I had to upgrade the site to a much higher level with my host because the number of visitors at one time was shutting down the site. The result is a much faster page load, which I love; but also quite a bit more money going out to keep me on-line.
Thank you for letting me know, and thank you so much for being a regular reader!! You are very appreciated.

Hi Monica!
You are not the only one that misses Tom! I will start resurrecting some of those old posts, and I will definitely put it on my roster to bring him back occasionally on my new posts. The series of blogger interviews was a great experience and bringing my addiction to the celebrity rags in on the whole thing was a lot of fun. Even though there were a few that were confused. Is Tom Selleck really here? Ha!
It is always nice to know that there are folks out there that enjoy the humor posts too! My previous routine was to throw in one humor post a week and I’ve swayed from that due to a backlog of blogging commitments. I just need a couple extra days in the week.
Thanks for your kind words!
Oh, and Tom says “hi!”
Hi Suzy! I’ve been subscribing to your site for some time now and do love your fresh ideas for beautiful projects. I do have one suggestion for us subscribers: it would be super-convenient and nice if we got the TITLE OF THE POST as the SUBJECT of the e-mail instead of the name of your blog as the subject. I have saved dozens of the posts I’ve received via e-mail, however it would be a real challenge to look for any particular one that I might wish to refer back to…. not that I plan on removing any of them. Of course, I could do this on your site, but I’m an e-mail-type-of-gal! Thanks for considering and thanks for all of the fun posts.
I do love the sitcom and your awesome tutorials. The only thing is….I do miss hearing about the adventures of Tom, his mustache, and all those mishaps with celebrities in your Green Room. Did you end up renovating the Green Room? Did you and Tom have a ‘falling out’? I’m sure your life is still just as much of an adventure as always…I just miss hearing about it! I don’t really follow the celebrities through those magazines or tv shows….I preferred hearing your version. I’d settle for reruns, Suzy!….maybe you could send links to those older posts? Love your writing style and sense of humor, Suzy. Always a fan!
Hi Suzy,
I love your blog and everything about it. You are so much fun and incredibly talented!!!
I wish you lived in my town so we could be Best Friends!!! I can’t think of anything that you should change, it all seems terrific. I just wish I had more time to try to make all the wonderful projects you feature. I’m thinking you must get by on only 2 hours sleep a night. I’m glad you post so frequently because you are my bright spot of every day!
Peace, Love & Joy,
Joyce
Suzy i think your crafts and tutorials area amazing! Your page loads quickly and is easy to navigate. If i had one twinge of irritation it would be when i click on ‘read article’ an add pops up EVERYTIME and i have to click it down….That maybe just how you have it set up or maybe you don’t know thats happening…anyway since you asked i thought i’d let you know. Ofcourse i usually get to your blog before i’ve finished my first cup of coffe so maybe i’m just easily annoyed! LOL! Hugs! deb
