I thought it would be nice to put together a hand-made frame for some of my favorite photos. So naturally, my mind went to toilet paper. Yep. This frame is made from toilet paper tubes! Want to know how? Oh wait, I’m getting ahead of myself. You see, since the Faux Metal Wall Art project,…
These are the first socks I ever knit. I am very proud. Made out of Premier Yarns Serenity Sock Weight in the colorway Mint using size 2 needles and the Basic Sock Pattern by Patons. You can find lots of free sock patterns on Ravelry for the sockaholics in all of us. I made them…
This week, I am featuring a project that I have been working on for the last month in between all my other projects. You see, my sister’s birthday was this week and I have been planning this gift for quite some time. My sister is six years younger than me. When we were growing up,…
I took my chihuahua/pug, Faith, to the vet last weekend for her yearly checkup and shots. As usual, getting her in the car was easy, but getting her out was a struggle. The last time she went to the vet, she was there to be spayed. I think she might have remembered the place. I’m…
The week I was snowed in, I got very adventurous and decided to finally do something about the little sewing table that sits in my hallway. It is one of those tables that folds up and hides a Singer Sewing machine. Not what you would exactly call antique, but definitely an older model. The top…
I loved the one-use soap idea from back in December. It was a big hit with my friends and family. They loved the little snowflakes and they were nice little gifts to give. And very easy to make. So, I decided to recreate them for Valentines Day, this time in the shape of conversation hearts. Affiliate links to…
Well, it took me all weekend, but I finally figured out how to use my ipod. Some things come easily to me, but technology is unfortunately not one of those things. I’ve owned the same outdated cell phone for six years now and refuse to upgrade it to a new model due to the fact…
I have literally been snowed in here for most of the week. And being the craftaholic that I am, you would think I have lots to show you. Yes, I spent a large amount of time crafting and I have three projects currently in the works. But none of them are complete. So I decided…
My husband and I went on a vacation to Montana a year ago. This year, it isn’t going to work out, but that doesn’t stop me from checking out the webcams in West Yellowstone and wishing I was there. We love the snow. Our idea of a great vacation involves minus zero weather, snowmobiles, boots and…
Love new innovative craft ideas? I found a way to create faux stained glass using only acrylic paint and glue! This easy stained glass project is even more fun with a good pattern. One of my specialties is creating unique patterns like the Majestic Peacock Pattern used in this tutorial. This project is relatively child friendly and a page from a…
Looking for the Faux Metal Wall Art? Since this project was originally published on The Sitcom in December 2010, it has been my most popular project by far. Who knew that a bunch of toilet paper tubes and an idea would become so big? You can now find the full tutorial and FREE patterns on…
My boss gave me an Amaryllis for Christmas. Apparently, he does not know me as well as he thinks. You see, along with charring most everything I cook within inches of it’s life, I am not very good at keeping plants alive. It’s that short attention span of mine that gets me in trouble every…
Christmas Dinner is going to be special this year. My mom will be joining us. My father-in-law will be driving down from North Georgia, and my youngest daughter will be there too! So it is a time for family and a time to enjoy each others company. We are planning a nice dinner using the…
The idea of one-time-use soaps has been intriguing me lately. So I decided to try my hand at making some snowflake soaps. With Christmas right around the corner, I am in need of some inexpensive, thoughtful gifts to give my coworkers and these just seem to fit the bill. For this project I used: Felt…
