1- An industrious week last week led to the completion of two projects. This Ukrainian egg is called, “Night of the Peacock”. It came out well, even though the color scheme wasn’t quite what I was going for. The thing with Ukrainian Egg Dyeing is you really don’t know what it is going to…
1. With spring-like weather arriving full blast, my husband and I decided to take the Harley out on a nice ride this weekend. My husband drives a magical Harley. You just hop on and let it take you where it wants to go. And it always takes us somewhere nice. This time we ended up…
1- I finished my latest egg creation. I’m calling it “Spring has Sprung!” You can find it in my Etsy shop with all my other egg creations. I never get tired of making Ukrainian eggs. It was going to be Four Turtle Doves with a Christmas theme and then I just got carried away. …
My pollinated VW bug. It used to be black. Really it was. Now it’s just a nervous little bug, keeping it’s eye out for errant bumble bees. Welcome to Atlanta in the spring; land of sneezy, coughy, chokey yellow pollinated air. I’ve lived in many places in the country, but I truly never encountered the…
1. Last weekend I went on a “girls trip” to Gatlinburg to check out the local quilt show. We rented a log cabin at the top of a mountain and planned to check out the vendors at the show, the awesome quilts and anything else we might see in the area. 2. It took us…
Hanging out with the Clown Gang… So, my daughter and I were talking recently about our most embarrassing moments. I have so many to choose from, it was difficult to come up with one in particular. But after some thought, it did occur to me that there is one particular time several years ago that…
These are the first socks I ever knit. I am very proud. Made out of Premier Yarns Serenity Sock Weight in the colorway Mint using size 2 needles and the Basic Sock Pattern by Patons. You can find lots of free sock patterns on Ravelry for the sockaholics in all of us. I made them…
This week, I am featuring a project that I have been working on for the last month in between all my other projects. You see, my sister’s birthday was this week and I have been planning this gift for quite some time. My sister is six years younger than me. When we were growing up,…
I took my chihuahua/pug, Faith, to the vet last weekend for her yearly checkup and shots. As usual, getting her in the car was easy, but getting her out was a struggle. The last time she went to the vet, she was there to be spayed. I think she might have remembered the place. I’m…
Well, it took me all weekend, but I finally figured out how to use my ipod. Some things come easily to me, but technology is unfortunately not one of those things. I’ve owned the same outdated cell phone for six years now and refuse to upgrade it to a new model due to the fact…
My husband and I went on a vacation to Montana a year ago. This year, it isn’t going to work out, but that doesn’t stop me from checking out the webcams in West Yellowstone and wishing I was there. We love the snow. Our idea of a great vacation involves minus zero weather, snowmobiles, boots and…
My boss gave me an Amaryllis for Christmas. Apparently, he does not know me as well as he thinks. You see, along with charring most everything I cook within inches of it’s life, I am not very good at keeping plants alive. It’s that short attention span of mine that gets me in trouble every…
My husband and I argue about very few things and most of those things are just small annoyances. He doesn’t like the fact that I can’t seem to take a shirt off without leaving it inside out. He hates that I don’t put the bread tie back on the bread, that I spend money on…
So, my husband was sent out of town on business this week. I have to tell you that the first thing that went through my head was “I don’t have to cook!” I pictured a week of bliss, eating out of cans, not putting the bread tie back on the bread without retribution, sitting in…
It seems I am the world’s worst at starting projects and never finishing them. I am the master of “UFO’s” (Unfinished Objects). I have a whole room of my house dedicated to the making and storing of UFOs. I’m a painter, a quilter, a knitter, crocheter, a writer, and crafter. And not necessarily in that…
